Andina’s board of directors and management is made up of professionals with deep and broad experience in all aspects of the electricity and public services sectors.
- Neil Bleasdale – Chairman
Neil Bleasdale graduated from Leeds University with a BA (Hons) in 1978. From 1979 to 1991 he worked for Lloyds Bank International in London, Uruguay, Argentina, Peru and Brazil, where he ended up as Head of International Capital Markets in Sao Paulo. In 1991 he joined ING Bank in Amsterdam as Chief Officer, Corporate Finance in the Emerging Markets Group, and from 1994 to December 1997 he was Managing Director, Corporate and Investment Banking at ING Barings’ Buenos Aires office. From December 1997 to February 2008 he was Finance Director of Supercanal Holding S.A. and Uno Medios S.A.. In October 2006 he became Deputy Chairman of Empresa Distribuidora de Electricidad de Mendoza S.A. EDEMSA and since March 2008 has been Chairman and General Manager of EDEMSA. He joined the Board of Andes Energía in 2006 and was Chairman from 2007 to July 2012. He is also a director of HDS, the controlling shareholder of Hidreléctrica Ameghino S.A. He is a member of the board of ADEERA, the Association of Electricity Distributors of the Argentine Republic, and also a director of Valos, a Mendoza-based NGO which fosters corporate social responsibility in the province.
- Luis Alvarez Poli – Chief Executive Officer
Chief Executive Officer, aged 45. Luis graduated as a Certified Public Accountant and Corporate Administrator from the Universidad Católica Argentina in Buenos Aires.He also has a postgraduate MBA from the Instituto de Altos Estudios Empresariales IAE. Luis has 19 years of experience in capital markets, investor relations and financial restructuring. He was previously CEO of Andes Energia plc, financial director and manager in, among others, Transportadora de Gas del Sur and Petrobras (formerly Perez Companc) and has also worked for Banco Macro in the capital markets department.
- Nigel Duxbury – CFO and Company Secretary
Chief Financial Officer, aged 48. Nigel has extensive experience both as a finance director and senior executive in small and large quoted and unquoted companies within Europe, Asia and the USA. He has a background in finance and accountancy, having qualified as a chartered accountant with Touche Ross, London. He is currently also a director of Andes Energia plc, a company quoted on AIM.
- Marcelo Comba – Non Executive Director
After working in the legal departments of Siemens S.A. and Ferrovias SAC, he has worked since 2002 as a Partner in the law firm of Aidar Bestene-Garcia Moreno & Associates. In 2004 he also became President of HASA until 2013 in which he became a Non Executive Director.
- Jorge Depresbiteris – Chief Operating Officer
Chief Operating Officer, aged 54 years. Jorge graduated from Universidad Tecnologica Nacional with a degree in Electrical Engineering in 1982. He has many years of experience in different roles in multi-national electricity companies and is currently Commercial Manager at EDEMSA responsible for commercial operations, planning and strategies and customers service. Jorge worked in several management positions in both generation and distribution for CMS Energy from 1994 to 2008 in Argentina and Venezuela, where he was General Manager of the vertically-integrated Seneca power company in Isla Margarita, with 125,000 customers.
- Sergio Pasquier – EDEMSA Manager of Human Resources
Sergio Pasquier has a B.A. in Political Sciences from the Universidad Nacional de Cuyo and a post-graduate degree in Human Resources from the Fundación Alta Dirección and Universidad de Belgrano. He was a Communications Analyst at ESSO Argentina (1983); Head of Training and Development at Industrías Metalúrgicas Pescarmona (1984-1993); and then Manager of Human Resources at Metro Supermarkets (1994-1998). That year he became Manager of Industrial Relations at Cervecería y Maltería Qilmes and Eco de Los Andes until 2005 when he joined Empresa Jujeña de Electricidad (EJESA) as Manager of Human Resources. Since March 2008 he has occupied the same position at EDEMSA.
- Andres Carnevale – EDEMSA Manager of Administration
Andrés Carnevale has a Masters Degree in Business Administration from the Universidad Francisco de Vitoria in Spain after qualifying with honours as a Certified Public Accountant at the Universidad Nacional de Cuyo. He worked until |997 as an independent advisor in financial, tax, accounting and administration matters. In March 2003 he became Assistant Manager of Administration and Finance at EDEMSA and in Occtober 2006 was promoted to become Manager of Administration. He gives classes in Corporate Finance and Business Control in various post-graduate courses in Argentina and overseas.
- Andres Aruani –EDEMSA Manager of Legal Affairs
Andrés Aruani graduated as a lawyer in 1990 from the Faculty of Legal and Social Sciences at the Universidad de Mendoza. He received a postgraduate degree in Corporate Legal Advisory from the Universidad de Mendoza in 1991 and undertook a Doctorate in International Studies at the Law Faculty of the Universidad de Barcelona, Spain, from 1995 to 1997.
He was Senior Lawyer at the Estudio Vila law firm from 1997 to 1999 and head of the Administrative Law area of the Legal Department at Obras Sanitarias Mendoza from 1999 to 2008. From 2008 to 2009 he was the Manager of Administrative Law at Supercanal S.A., and in 2010 became Manager of Legal Affairs at EDEMSA.
- Ariel Palumbo – EDEMSA Manager of Finance
Ramón A. Palumbo is a Certified Public Accountant from the Universidad Nacional de Cuyo. He was first Head of Administration and then Head of Accounts Payable at Supercanal S.A. until December 2006, when he joined EDEMSA as Assistant Manager of the Finance Department. In March 2009 he became Manager of Finance at EDEMSA.
- Martha Molinaro – EDEMSA Technical Manager
Martha Molinaro graduated as Engineer in Electronics and Electricity from the Universidad de Mendoza in 1985. Her post-graduate studies include a Masters in Quality and Business Administration at the Universidad Nacional de Cuyo, and a number of local and international diplomas and courses in Project Management, Environmental Impact, and Quality Management at companies such as ABS Consultoría Brazil and ABB Sweden.
In 1986 she began work at Energía Mendocina SE (the state-owned predecesor of EDEMSA) and worked her way up from Junior Engineer to head of Strategic Planning, and in the period 1990-1997 she was a part-time engineer on the Engineering Distribution Systems Project undertaken jointly by the National Energy Secretariat, World Bank, EDF and ENEL. Upon the privatization of EMSE, she continued in the same post at EDEMSA and then became Assistant Manager of Engineering. From 2003 to 2005 she was responsible for Sustainable Development and in 2006 she became Assistant Manager of Strategic Planning. In May 2008 she became Technical Manager of EDEMSA, responsible for all engineering and technical operations.
