Carlos Manuel Bastos joined the board on 8 May 2018. Carlos graduated as a engineer speciaizing in energy. He was Secretary of State for Energy, Public Works and Communications since 1991 to 1996. During that period he established the regulatory framework approved by law for the operation of private electric power companies. In later years, he has been working for several private companies as well in public institutions.
